Rule 45 – Division of Post-Season Receipts
The gate receipts from the World Series, the first four games of each LCS, and the first three games of each LDS shall be divided as follows:
15% from all World Series Games; an annual percentage from each LCS game set by the Major League Executive Council.
Players’ Pool – 60% of the first four World Series Games; 60% from the first four games of each LCS; 60% of the first three games of each LDS.
Distribution of Pool – 36% to the World Series Winner; 24% to the World Series loser. 24% divided equally among the LCS losers; 12% divided equally among the LDS losers; 4% to the four second place teams that dd not qualify for the playoffs.
Apportionment – Players for each team will apportion their pool by a vote of all players on that team who were or would have been eligible for the World Series and who were with the team since June 1 (“Eligible Players”). The meeting shall be open only to players except the field manager, prior to being excused from meeting, may be allowed to express his view. The field manager may be present if allowed by the player representative. Non-uniformed personnel shall not be eligible to receive a percentage, but are eligible to receive a cash reward that may not exceed the value of a full share. All Eligible Players shall receive a full share. New players since June 1 may be voted a full share. Players on the Ineligible List shall not relieve any shares. A player may be eligible to receive shares from multiple teams if he played for multiple teams during the season and the teams vote that player a share. Player may not assign shares.
- After the Commissioner and players’ pool, the remaining gate receipts shall go to the participating cubs.
– For the first four games, after the Commissioner and players’ pool, the remaining gate receipts shall go to the respective participating cubs. If the LCS exceeds four games, the Commissioner shall receive 15% and then the remaining gate receipts shall go to the respective participating cubs.
– For the first three games, after the Commissioner and players’ pool, the remaining gate receipts shall go to the respective participating cubs. If the LDS exceeds three games, the Commissioner shall receive 15% and then the remaining gate receipts shall go to the respective participating cubs
Guaranteed Players’ Pool
World Series winner - at least $2,416,450
World Series loser – at least $1,611,00
LCS loser – at least $805,000 each
LDS losers - $644,400 each
Second Place Non-Playoff Teams - $161,100 each
If World Series Ticket prices raise, these minimums shall be increased in a pro-rata amount
